The UA-HU-TRAINING project (HUSKROUA/23/RI/2.1/056) is enhancing the quality of healthcare education in the Hungary–Ukraine border region by developing modern, simulation-based medical training. Implemented under the Interreg VI-A NEXT Hungary–Slovakia–Romania–Ukraine Programme, the project focuses on strengthening professional skills through cross-border cooperation and innovative training tools.
Advancing simulation-based education in Ivano-Frankivsk
On 26 September 2025, a specialised training session for trainers was held at Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University. The event marked an important milestone in the project, supporting the development of simulation-based education at institutional level.
As part of the training, newly purchased medical simulation mannequins were installed, and university trainers received hands-on instruction on their effective use. The session covered the technical features of the equipment, maintenance requirements, and practical applications in educational settings.
Building practical skills for future healthcare professionals
The training demonstrated how simulation tools can be integrated into multidisciplinary education for students, healthcare professionals, and community groups. By creating realistic learning environments, simulation-based training supports practice-oriented skill development and prepares participants for real-life medical situations in a safe and controlled setting.
Cross-border cooperation for stronger healthcare education
This activity significantly strengthens the professional capacity of IFNMU trainers and supports the future operation of the university’s Simulation Center. Through joint efforts between Hungarian and Ukrainian partners, the UA-HU-TRAINING project contributes to higher-quality healthcare education and more resilient health systems across the programme area.
