As part of the cross-border project “DRANICA.24 – Promoting the Immaterial Wooden Heritage of the Carpathian Euroregion. A Technical Handbook for Traditional Woodworking” (Project Ref: HUSKROUA/23/RS/2.2/021), we are organizing the 3rd and 4th technical workshops.
The first of these two events is scheduled for 24 June 2026 in Mezőkövesd, together with craftsmen from Hadas.
The second event is scheduled for 25 June 2026 in Erdőbénye, together with craftsman Attila Hotyek, and will explore the relationship between woodworking and the traditional craft of cooperage.
The DRANICA.24 project is dedicated to safeguarding the intangible wooden heritage of the Carpathian region. By systematically collecting, documenting, and disseminating traditional knowledge, the initiative bridges academic research with active community engagement. Its core objective is to ensure that traditional woodworking endures not merely as historical documentation, but as a living and vibrant cultural practice.
This workshop will serve as collaborative hub, bringing together researchers, heritage experts, master craftsmen and regional cooperation practitioners.
These are technical workshops addressed to a specialized audience, and are not intended for the general public.
These two workshops are organized and coordinated by the project partner University of Miskolc, located at 3515 Miskolc-Egyetemváros, Egyetem út 1, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County, Hungary.
