The conference disseminates the project’s “Introduction of Monitoring the Wetlands of International importance in The Carpathian Region” (WeVaRe) interim results on monitoring internationally important Carpathian wetlands while fostering broader scientific exchange. Bringing together researchers, practitioners, authorities, and stakeholders, it integrates environmental and economic perspectives—highlighting wetlands as natural assets and drivers of regional resilience. Addressing climate adaptation, biodiversity, green economy, and sustainable land-use, it translates science into practice, encourages stakeholder engagement, and strengthens cooperation across academia, institutions, and local communities. With its dual focus on scientific monitoring and economic valorisation, the WeVaRe Conference enhances awareness, improves management, and supports long-term wetland governance, contributing significantly to WeVaRe’s objectives and integrated wetland management from regional to European levels.
