An expert in‑person meeting focused on spatial planning and cross‑border transport development will be held in Slovakia, bringing together Slovak and Ukrainian institutions involved in strategic territorial planning. The meeting will concentrate on the preparation of amendments to the Spatial Plan of the Zakarpattia Region, with particular attention to the integration of TEN‑T and cross‑border transport corridors connecting Ukraine with the European Union.
The event will provide a professional platform for discussing input data and planning requirements from the Košice and Prešov Self‑Governing Regions, and their use in shaping the future spatial development of Zakarpattia. Key topics will include harmonisation of planning documents, coordination of transport infrastructure concepts, and alignment of regional and national planning approaches on both sides of the border.
By fostering direct expert dialogue and institutional cooperation, the meeting aims to support the creation of a coherent, coordinated spatial planning framework for the Zakarpattia Region, strengthening its connectivity with neighbouring EU regions and contributing to long‑term, sustainable cross‑border development.
