The WeCaRe project brings the ideas of pilot green infrastructures in process of climate adaptation with the aim to retain rainwater accompanied with the anti-flood measure, to support the education of water retention and anti-flood measures from an early stage of kindergarten children to secondary school students on local workshops and adult participants of cross-border training programme, forum and study visits on the sites with the aim to deepen several years of cooperation and to strengthen communication between the neighbouring regions of Zemplín, Zemplén and Transcarpathia facing the common challenges.
The main goal of the project: The main objective of the project is to enhance the environmental resilience of the target municipalities to climate change by integrating rainwater retention and anti-flood measures. Additionally, the project aims to create six new green zones within municipal infrastructure while increasing the professionalism of municipal actors in developing ecologically sustainable cities. Public awareness of climate change adaptation will be raised, and project data will be made more accessible to the wider public.
