The event took place near Vișeu de Sus, in the spectacular setting of the Vaser Valley, bringing together project partners, specialists in nature conservation, research, and protected area management, as well as local authorities.

Participants included representatives of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Uzhhorod National University (Ukraine), Synevyr National Nature Park (Ukraine), Polonyny National Nature Park, and the Institute of High Mountain Biology of the University of Žilina (Slovakia), alongside experts and collaborators of the Maramureș Mountains Natural Park Administration.

Participants discussed modern methods for monitoring wetland ecosystems, the importance of biodiversity conservation, and the role of international collaboration in the effective management of natural heritage.

The event also promoted the principles of sustainable tourism and the responsible conduct of recreational and tourism activities in protected natural areas, highlighting the importance of maintaining a balance between nature conservation and the development of local communities.
