The main goal of the project is to popularise the cultural heritage of the border region and the collections of the three participating museums by digitising them. This digital transformation will ensure wider access to ethnographic, artistic, and historical artefacts for researchers, students, and the general public.
Project activities include:
-
3D scanning of selected cultural heritage objects from the ethnographic and artistic collection of the Satu Mare County Museum (Romania);
-
Creation of 3D models of men’s and women’s traditional folk clothing from the Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Life (Ukraine), preserving these fragile items in a virtual format;
-
Digitisation of audio-visual materials such as video tapes, audio cassettes, and photo negatives housed in the Museum of Ukrainian Culture in Svidník (Slovakia), making them accessible for future generations and cross-border cultural research.
The project not only preserves valuable regional heritage but also promotes intercultural understanding by sharing these digital resources across borders. It supports the long-term visibility and use of local traditions in modern educational and cultural contexts.
