Project Idea Description
The project aims to improve the safety and quality of drinking water in the Onokivska Territorial Community (Ukraine) by introducing a modern and effective disinfection technology based on chlorine dioxide (ClO₂). Currently, the community faces challenges with outdated water treatment practices and an increased risk of microbiological contamination in the water supply system, especially during periods of fluctuating raw water quality. The main goal of the project is to ensure a stable and reliable disinfection process for the public water supply serving 5 villages with a total population of 7,915 residents. The project will include the installation of a central ClO₂ generation and dosing unit at the main water facility, supported by additional dosing points within the distribution network to guarantee consistent water quality across the entire system. In addition, the project will introduce an online monitoring system for key water quality parameters and will include laboratory testing before and after implementation. Local technical staff will be trained to operate and maintain the new system, ensuring long-term sustainability. The project will be implemented through cross-border cooperation between the Slovak lead partner UA-SK Partner Klub and the Ukrainian partner Onokivska Territorial Community. The supplier of the technology will be selected through a transparent procurement procedure in accordance with grant and public procurement rules. As a result, the project will significantly reduce health risks related to unsafe drinking water, improve public services, and strengthen the resilience of local infrastructure, contributing to better living conditions and public health in the cross-border region.pis nápadu v angličtine |
